I've got a confession to make...outside of school (and that was more than 4 years ago!) I've never read any nonfiction books. I know, I know! It just never appealed to me as a reader and required school reading certainly didn't help. As you all can see, I love, love, love fantasy and supernatural fiction, and so it seemed like nonfiction is the complete opposite of that: not fun. But after being more active in the book blogging community, I've learned that nonfiction isn't always dry, boring, and miserable. Nonfiction can be engaging, entertaining, and a lot of fun!

So this year I'm participating in #NonfictionNovember2017, a reading challenge created by Olive and Gemma from abookolive and nonficbooks on youtube to get more readers interested in nonfiction!

The books I chose for this year are Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow and It Was The Best of Sentences, It Was The Worst Of Sentences. by June Casagrande. The first book I actually picked up last year during the peak of my Hamilton musical addiction (note: there is still no hope for recovery and I'm okay with that). I haven't even cracked it open because of its massive 832 pages but this year will be different.

The second book, It Was The Best of Sentences, It Was The Worst Of Sentences.., I already started reading a week ago as a way to get out of my writer's block. I've always struggled with writing so I figured it was time to remedy that. So far this has been an enjoyable read and it really makes grammar easy to learn. I'm taking more notes than usual so I'm reading more slowly but ya gurl has to learn.

So are any of you participating in #NonfictionNovember2017? What are your reads this November?

Happy Thursday!
